PLN #4

The topic that made me think that I should change or help out is domestic violence. The Power Point that the student should the class was powerful and made me think how I can change it. If there was away that I could change all the issues going on with teens and domestic violence in relationships. I kinda know some stuff about domestic violence because my cousin was being abused by her father and no one in our family knew, but one night I was spending the night and the feeling between him and her was different than when they hung out with us. Secrets can be hidden behind closed doors and sealed up tight and tried to hide it it but sooner or later they will come out. This is why I thought really hard about the topic domestic violence.

Built up Pain

The topic Ive been researching for independent writing is domestic violence.I have learned many interesting facts like the rate of abusers are higher than the victim. Also women are not the only people who are abused men can also be the victims. You never know who is being abused in a relationship it can be your neighbor or your best friend. Most abusers have low self esteem and no confidence that anyone will like them in a relationship, so they take drastic measures. The best thing is to get out the relationship quickly but this doesn't always happen soon it could take a day to a month or years. After, getting out of the relationship they go to therapy or figure out other ways to get rid of the past. As long as the victim has lots of people around them to support and protect them they will get back on their feet soon. I am still learning more and more about domestic violence every day and can't wait to learn more.

The Force of a Hit

The independent reading I have been doing in class is about domestic abuse. Things I learned was that being a abuser is a physiological emotion because if a women or man sees someone in there household abusing someone else according to domestiecviolence.com there is a 1 in 10 chance that they will grow up and be abuser their selves. Abuse isn't just a physical thing it also is emotional, sexual, and psychological. Often abusers have low self-esteem. Abusers often try to hide the abuse by causing injuries that can be hidden and do not need a doctor. Abuse is isn't just a accident even though the abuser might just it only happened once they will find an excuse to abuse that person again. I have learned many things about domestic violence so far and can't wait to learn more.

PLN #3

I am still reading the book "Fade" which is the sequel to "Wake" by Lisa McMann this book can relate to any kind of teen because Janie could be in danger or the happiest place in the world she goes through all types of situations no matter who or what it involves. I am beginning to like this book more and more because Janie's character is starting to develop more through out the story. She is becoming more self protected. Janie has to makes a choice to help on a school crime or sit around and watch "I don't need to think about it, sir. Count me in."  I can relate to this book because just like Janie I like to do things on my own and just be independent. Janie also isn't independent because she still likes the feeling of having someone take care of her including her boyfriend Cabel ”He stirs Janie's coffee with a stir stick after having prepared it just the way she likes it.” There is also that feeling that she is being taken by a person who cares about her. Janie is the type of girl who likes to experience all things but is a bit shaky about her decisions ”Janie tackles the Stubin files to learn more about her powers.” These quotes show how Janie’s character can change in a blink of an eye. Instead of  having multiple split personality she should be herself. She can’t be herself since she is a undercover cop she has to hide part of her life. The only people who know that she is a cop is her captain and her boyfriend. No matter how much she wants to blurt out her secret it isn’t possible. That’s what I think about my book so far.

PLN#2!:D

The book i am reading is called "Fade" by Lisa McMann, i can relate to this book because Janine is going through the same high school situations that i am but her situations happens in different ways. One situation that she has to go through is the way she has to stay undercover because she is a young cop. She helps the cops because she has learned to control the way she goes in and out a dream. Janie has helped the team take down a drug dealer. One other situation she goes through is that her boyfriend Cabel is also a undercover cop. A situation that i can relate to is the drama she has with other people expectually the girls she has nothing in common with.I felt that way because I know when i started school i felt like a little fish in a big pond. Iu was surrounded by people who I knew nothing about. That is what I felt about my independent book when i read it.

My independent reading book is titled Wake. This book is about a girl who is going through high school but she has a secret. The secret is she is a dream jumper. That is when a dream can just pop in her head at anytime.I can relate to the main character Janie because the dreams she gets put in I have had those dreams before especially the falling in the darkness dream. I can also relate to Janie because she tries to be relaxed as she can even if the worst thing happens to her.I really try to act like that because it wont stress out the people around me.
